Annunciation by El Greco is a remarkable religious painting from 1609, now part of a private collection in Madrid. Painted on canvas using oil, it depicts a significant Biblical moment in the artist's unique style, which can be characterized as Mannerism, a phase of late renaissance art. The work is a reiteration of the same subject from the Doña María de Aragón Altarpiece, thought to be completed potentially by his son after El Greco's death in 1614. It is a fragment of the original, designed specifically for the chapel of the Hospital de Tavera.
