Art School

"Art School" by Peter Doig is a captivating painting that blends elements of Landscape with Magic realism. Doig, a British artist known for his diverse international background—living in England, Scotland, Trinidad, Canada, the USA, and Germany—brings a rich, layered perspective to his work. Having resided in Trinidad from 2002 to 2021 before returning to London, his experiences influence the painting’s dreamlike atmosphere. The work captures an evocative scene that blurs reality and fantasy, reflecting Doig’s mastery in creating imagery that invites viewers into a surreal, almost mystical world grounded in real place.
