Evening Glow

"Evening Glow" by Alma Woodsey Thomas exemplifies her vibrant and exuberant Abstract style, characterized by bold, colorful geometric shapes that evoke the warmth and serenity of sunset. As a pioneering African-American artist and art teacher, Thomas's work often reflects her mastery of Color field painting, creating luminous fields of color that engage viewers emotionally. After retiring from her career at Washington's Shaw Junior High School, she dedicated herself to producing these lively, uplifting compositions. "Evening Glow" is a prime example of her innovative approach, blending abstract forms with a radiant, glowing atmosphere that captures the essence of dusk.
