Infinity Field, Lefkada Series

"Infinity Field, Lefkada Series" by Theodoros Stamos exemplifies his evolution within the abstract and Color field painting movements. This work features expansive, luminous fields of color that evoke a sense of boundless infinity, characteristic of his exploration of space and perception. As one of the prominent young figures among the original abstract expressionist painters, Stamos employed bold color relationships to achieve a meditative, cosmic quality. His later career, however, was marred by controversy linked to the Rothko case, which cast a shadow over his artistic legacy.
