Portrait of a Man is an High renaissance Portrait painted in oil on canvas around 1545 by Lorenzo Lotto. The work displays Lotto’s characteristic attention to detail and psychological depth, reflected in the subject's contemplative expression and realistic depiction. Stylistic similarities to Lotto's mid-1540s works suggest this date, though some scholars propose it portrays Giovanni Taurini da Montepulciano, the viceroy of Ancona, which would suggest a slightly later date of 1551. Currently housed in the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan, it entered the collection in 1855 via the Oggioni Bequest. The painting exemplifies the refined techniques of the High renaissance Portrait genre, emphasizing realism and individual personality.
