Fat Kitchen
"Fat Kitchen" is a lively genre painting likely created using oil on a panel. The scene captures a bustling, detailed kitchen, emphasizing everyday life with vibrant, exaggerated figures that reflect the Baroque style’s dramatic use of color and composition. This work was part of Jan Gildemeester’s extensive collection of approximately 300 paintings, which included family portraits and a commissioned gallery painting by Adriaen de Lelie. Many of these works were later dispersed, making "Fat Kitchen" a noteworthy example of 18th-century genre art and its rich collection history.
