"The Annunciation" by Filippo Lippi is a tempera on Wood panel created during the Early renaissance period, dating from approximately 1449–1459. This religious painting depicts the angel Gabriel announcing to the Virgin Mary that she will conceive the Christ child. Originally part of the decoration commissioned for the Palazzo Medici in Florence, the lunettes were likely placed above a door or bed. The work exemplifies Lippi’s mastery of delicate detail and harmony, characteristic of Renaissance religious art. It is currently housed in the National Gallery, London.
