After a Rain

"After a Rain" is a captivating landscape painting by Russian artist Arkhip Kuindzhi, created in 1879 and housed in the State Tretyakov Gallery. Measuring 97×181 cm, it depicts a serene forest scene with a birch grove in a sunlit clearing. Kuindzhi masterfully uses Impressionism-inspired techniques, emphasizing the interplay of light and shadow through vibrant colors and sharp contrasts, suggesting a moment after rain when sunlight breaks through the clouds.
