The Virgin of the Rose is a religious painting from the High renaissance period, created between 1518 and 1520 and housed in the Museo del Prado in Madrid. Its attribution to Raphael remains uncertain, with Giulio Romano potentially involved. Notably, the painting’s Oil rose and lower portion were added later by an unknown artist. A similar autograph version, without these additions, is owned by Luke Brugnara. In 2022, the work was featured in a National Gallery exhibition. The painting was originally created on canvas.
