The painting titled 'Study for Philosophy', part of the infamous Klimt University of Vienna Ceiling Paintings series, was created by Art Nouveau master Gustav Klimt between 1900 and 1907. Initially commissioned as a sketch and study for the main ceiling of the University of Vienna's Great Hall, it incited controversy due to perceived 'pornographic' and 'excessive' elements. Despite the turmoil, none of the paintings, including 'Study for Philosophy', were showcased within the university. Today, however, Klimt's work is renowned for its bold and controversial exploration of thematic complexities.
