'Schubert at the Piano II' is an expressive portrait work of fine art by Gustav Klimt, done using oil paints on canvas in 1899. The painting looks into a moment of Austrian musician, Franz Schubert's life, showcasing him performing on a piano amidst a crowd, all enveloped in soft flickering candlelight. This Art Nouveau styled portrayal embraces organic shapes and fluid lines, often associated with symbolism. Nikolaus Dumba, a Greek industrialist, may have been the patron behind this creation. This historical masterpiece, however, tragically met its end engulfed in the flames of an infamous inferno at Schloss Immendorf in 1945.
