"Llyn-y-Cau, Cader Idris" is a 1774 landscape painting by Welsh artist Richard Wilson. It depicts the serene lake of Llyn-y-Cau near the summit of Cadair Idris in Snowdonia, North Wales, capturing the rugged beauty of the Welsh landscape. Wilson, who spent much of his career in London and Italy, often portrayed his native scenery, and this work is likely a submission to the Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition of 1774. Today, the painting resides in Tate Britain, acquired in 1945, showcasing his mastery of capturing natural beauty with delicate detailing.
