Eternal Mother

"Eternal Mother" by Maqbool Fida Husain exemplifies his mastery of Cubism in a narrative format. This symbolic painting vividly depicts maternal strength and spiritual devotion, blending serious and contemplative themes with his characteristic modernist approach. Husain’s style often employs a modified Cubist technique, allowing for multiple perspectives and abstract forms that evoke deeper cultural and emotional layers. As a founding figure of Indian modernism, his works, including this piece, reflect dialogues on identity, tradition, and the evolving modern India, resonating with both humor and gravity.
