On Christmas Tree

"On Christmas Tree" is a charming painting rooted in Naïve art (primitivism), capturing a festive scene in Vishovgrad, a village in the Veliko Tarnovo Province of northern Bulgaria. The artwork exemplifies genre painting by depicting everyday village life with a warm, simplistic style. Its vivid colors and honest portrayal of villagers decorating a Christmas tree evoke a sense of innocence and community characteristic of naïve art. The piece celebrates cultural traditions and highlights the charm of rural Bulgarian festivities, making it a delightful representation of both local life and artistic naïveté.
