To Draw On

"To Draw On" by Denise Green exemplifies her approach within the New Image Painting movement, blending Neo-expressionism with abstract elements. Green’s work emphasizes idea over formal representation, often employing an abstract language that combines structured analysis with intuitive use of color and gesture. The painting’s ambiguous composition invites viewers to interpret its forms and meanings, embodying Green’s tendency to balance analytic structure with spontaneous expression. Through this, she creates a visual dialogue that is both intellectually engaging and emotionally resonant.
