Landscape with grass

Ivan Generalic’s 1959 painting Landscape with grass exemplifies his mastery within the Naïve art (primitivism) movement. Known for his vibrant depictions of rural scenes, Generalic employs a straightforward yet expressive technique emphasizing color and form over precise realism. The work belongs to the Landscape genre, focusing on natural elements suggested by the title. His style reflects an untrained, heartfelt vision, capturing the essence of grass and open spaces with simplicity and charm. This piece highlights Generalic’s ability to transform everyday countryside motifs into compelling, timeless art.
