Still Life with Coffee Jar

Mary Fedden's Still Life with Coffee Jar exemplifies her distinctive approach within the still life genre, combining bold colors and simplified forms that reflect elements of naïve art (primitivism). Her technique balances meticulous composition with a playful, almost childlike sensibility, emphasizing everyday objects through expressive brushwork and flattened perspectives. The artwork’s focus on a coffee jar situates it firmly in traditional still life practices, yet Fedden’s style transcends realism, inviting viewers to appreciate the ordinary with fresh vibrancy and warmth.
