US Highway 1

"US Highway 1" by Allan D'Arcangelo exemplifies his distinctive style, blending elements of Pop art, minimalism, and hard-edge painting. The painting features bold, simplified imagery of a highway, reflecting his fascination with American roadways and signage. While rooted in the figurative tradition, D'Arcangelo's precise, clean lines evoke a sense of modernity and mass media influence, often suggesting a cautious outlook on America's future. His work captures the aesthetic of American highways through a lens that borders on the surreal, resulting in a potent commentary on American culture and identity.
