Child Portrait

'Child Portrait' by Corneliu Baba exemplifies the artist’s mastery within the portrait genre, capturing a youthful subject with profound emotional depth. Baba, known for his connection to Expressionism, employs bold brushwork and a rich, subdued palette to convey psychological intensity beyond mere likeness. Created with traditional oil techniques, the painting emphasizes the inner world suggested by the title rather than decorative detail, aligning with Expressionist values that prioritize subjective experience. 'Child Portrait' stands as a compelling example of Baba’s ability to fuse technical skill with expressive power in figurative art.
