"View of a House and its Estate in Belsize, Middlesex" is a 1696 landscape painting by Flemish artist Jan Siberechts. This panoramic view captures the rural Middlesex area, now Belsize Park in London, with the city’s distant silhouette marked by chimney smoke and the outlines of Westminster Abbey. Once mistaken for Francis Pemberton’s house at The Grove in Highgate, it was later correctly identified as a property on Rosslyn Hill near Hampstead. The painting exemplifies the Baroque style's detailed realism and grandeur. Today, it resides in Tate Britain, acquired in 1995 with Art Fund assistance, offering a vivid glimpse into 17th-century English rural and urban landscapes.
