Portrait

The Portrait painting captures an individual's essence through bold brushstrokes and vivid colors, reflecting the influence of Expressionism. The artist’s use of exaggerated features and emotional intensity aims to evoke a deep connection with viewers. Located within the Goulandris Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens, Greece, this work complements a rich collection amassed by Basil Goulandris and his wife Elise Karadontis. The museum, opened in 2019, houses masterpieces valued at US$3 billion, showcasing various modern art styles that emphasize personal perception and psychological depth, hallmark traits of Portraiture.
