Traffic Prohibited

"Traffic Prohibited" by Jacek Yerka exemplifies his mastery in creating Surrealist imagery, blending imaginative and dreamlike elements within a detailed landscape. The painting features an otherworldly scene where traditional rules of traffic and movement are defied, evoking a sense of both whimsy and unease. This artwork served as the inspiration for a short story in the book Mind Fields, a collection that pairs Yerka’s intricate illustrations with prose poems by Harlan Ellison. The piece invites viewers to contemplate a world where the usual constraints of landscape and societal norms are deliberately broken, evoking deeper interpretive layers.
