"Money" is a compelling Symbolic painting that explores themes of value and materialism through abstract forms. Created by Czech artist František Kupka in 1912–13, the oil on canvas measures 180 × 150 cm and is part of the Jan and Meda Mládek collection at Museum Kampa in Prague. The composition features vertical and diagonal lines intersecting to form rectilinear shapes in a palette of black, white, and muted colors, reminiscent of stained glass windows in a dark cathedral. Kupka’s work, rooted in Symbolism and early Surrealism movements, uses geometric abstraction to evoke a contemplative, almost spiritual, reflection on the concept of money.
