"Trees" is an oil-on-canvas painting created by German artist Ernst Ludwig Kirchner between 1935 and 1937 during his time in Davos. Moving away from his earlier Expressionism, Kirchner's later works reflect a more subdued and introspective style. The painting features three figures engaged in archery, set against a landscape that highlights the natural surroundings of his Swiss home. While less vibrant than his earlier watercolors or pencil sketches, this piece exemplifies his evolving approach during his final phase. The work, bearing his signature EL Kirchner, is part of the collection at the Kirchner Museum Davos.
