Checkered House

"Checkered House" is a charming 1943 oil painting by the American outsider artist Grandma Moses, created when she was 83. This work exemplifies her distinctive style rooted in Naïve art (primitivism), characterized by its simplicity, vibrant colors, and lack of formal training. The painting depicts a cozy, checkered house within a lively rural scene, aligning with genre painting traditions that capture everyday life.
