Sleeping by the Lion Carpet (also known as Sue Tilley)

"Sleeping by the Lion Carpet (also known as Sue Tilley)" is a compelling Oil portrait by Lucian Freud, a renowned British painter celebrated for his mastery of figurative art. In this canvas, Freud depicts the subject in a raw and honest manner, exemplifying elements of Expressionism through vivid, emotive brushwork. This nude painting (nu) captures an intimate moment of repose, highlighting Freud’s distinctive focus on the human body’s physicality and vulnerability. His realistic style and intense self-exploration place this work among his significant contributions to contemporary figurative art.
