Salvator Mundi is a Panel attributed to Leonardo da Vinci, dating from the High renaissance period around 1499–1510. This Religious painting depicts Christ as the Savior with a solemn expression, holding a transparent Oil sphere in his left hand. Once thought to be a copy of a lost original veiled with overpainting, it was rediscovered, restored, and showcased at the National Gallery, London, in 2011–2012. Its attribution to Leonardo remains debated, as extensive restoration complicates definitive identification, though many scholars consider it an original work.
