"Cupid Disarmed" is a circa 1715 oil-on-canvas mythological painting, often attributed to Antoine Watteau. This Rococo work exemplifies the lightness and elegance characteristic of the style. It was part of a collection belonging to Watteau’s friend and protector, Jean de Jullienne, until his death in 1766. The painting was engraved by Benoît Audran in 1727 and documented in 1756. After Jullienne’s death, dealer Boileau Jajaja acquired it for Jean-Baptiste de Montullé, Jullienne’s executor, ensuring its preservation within art history.
