The Mater Dolorosa with Clasped Hands is an oil on canvas painting attributed to Titian and his studio, created around 1550-1555. As a religious painting, it depicts the sorrowful mother of Christ, embodying deep emotion and spiritual reflection. The work reflects the characteristics of Mannerism (late renaissance), with elongated figures and expressive gestures. Now housed in the Museo del Prado in Madrid, this piece differs from Titian’s similar version from 1554, also in the same museum.
