"Women's Head" is a compelling oil-on-canvas portrait painted in 1939 by Pablo Picasso, depicting his muse, Dora Maar. Created during his exploration of Surrealism, the work captures her profile with bold, fragmented forms characteristic of Picasso’s style. In 1941, Picasso donated the piece to Greece in tribute to their resistance during WWII. Exhibited initially in 1949 and later from 2011 to 2012, the painting was stolen in 2012 but recovered in 2021. It remains a significant example of 20th-century portrait art.
