Prometheus Bound is a compelling Mythological painting by Flemish Baroque artist Peter Paul Rubens, created on a canvas using oil paints. This vibrant composition depicts the Greek myth of Prometheus, who is chained and punished by Zeus. Collaborating with Frans Snyders, who painted the fierce eagle, Rubens captured the dramatic tension and physicality characteristic of the Baroque style. Originally produced between 1612 and 1618, it was part of a collection traded for classical statues and is now housed at the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille.
