The Religious painting titled "Triptych of the Mystical Marriage of St. Catherine of Alexandria, right wing, scene of St. John the Evangelist in Patmos" is part of the St John Altarpiece, created circa 1479 by the Northern renaissance master Hans Memling. This large oak-panel oil on oak triptych was commissioned for Bruges' Old St. John's Hospital and remains there today. The scene depicts St. John the Evangelist in exile on Patmos, capturing the spiritual mysticism characteristic of Memling's work, exemplifying the detailed realism and religious devotion typical of the Northern renaissance.
