"Christ the Judge" by Fra Angelico is a notable religious painting created during the Early renaissance. This fresco, originally located in the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, was commissioned for the Camaldolese Order to honor the newly elected abbot, humanist scholar Ambrogio Traversari. The artwork depicts the Last Judgment, a common theme illustrating Christ's divine authority over the Wall between salvation and damnation. Today, it resides in the Museum of San Marco in Florence, distinguishable from another similar work in Berlin.
