"Summer, or The Harvest," is a celebrated example of genre painting by Francisco de Goya, created for the Royal Tapestry Factory of Santa Barbara. The charming rural scene is masterfully rendered in oil on canvas, depicting bucolic life and aligned with the tastes of King Charles III. While not an overt example of Romanticism, the work does hint at Goya's later, more emotional style. Now kept in the Museo del Prado, the painting well represents Goya's contribution to Spanish royal art.
