"Pablo Picasso's Dora Maar with Cat is an oil-on-canvas portrait created in 1941. The painting depicts Dora Maar, Picasso's lover, seated with a small cat perched on her shoulders. Exhibiting elements of Cubism, the work showcases Picasso’s unique style combining abstract forms and fragmented perspectives. Recognized as one of the most expensive paintings ever sold, it achieved $95 million at Sotheby's in 2006, ranking as the sixth-highest-selling Picasso painting. Its vibrant composition captures both the intimacy and intensity of Picasso's portraiture."
