The 'Design for the Stoclet Frieze. Knight' is a unique piece of art by the renowned Austrian painter Gustav Klimt, who was well-known for his mastery in Art nouveau (modern) design. The artwork is part of the celebrated Stoclet Frieze, a series of three mosaics commissioned for the Stoclet Palace in Brussels, Belgium, between 1905–1911. The Klimt's Design features a 'Knight', an artistic representation with symbolic overtones, along with other mystical figures such as the swirling 'Tree of Life', a standing female figure, and a couple in an intimate embrace. His distinctive style and use of form and colour woven into each design are hallmarks of this stunning piece.
