Concorde

"Concorde" by Maruja Mallo exemplifies her innovative approach within the Surrealism movement. As a prominent figure of the Generation of 1927, Mallo's work often blends figurative elements with dreamlike and fantastical imagery. In this painting, the sleek, stylized form of the Concorde airplane is rendered with bold, expressive strokes, evoking a sense of modernity and technological progress. While embracing avant-garde techniques, Mallo’s piece also hints at Pop art influences through its vibrant colors and accessible subject matter, capturing both the era's innovation and cultural commentary.
