"Virgin in Prayer," also known as De Biddende Maria, is an oil-on-panel painting by Flemish artist Quentin Matsys, created around 1500 during the Northern renaissance. Depicting the Virgin Mary in a moment of devout prayer, this religious painting exemplifies the detailed realism characteristic of the period. The panel, crafted from oak, was originally part of a diptych, with the other panel featuring a Salvator Mundi. Today, it resides at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
