Knabe Vor Zwei Stehenden Und Einem Sitzenden Mädchen

Otto Mueller's Knabe Vor Zwei Stehenden Und Einem Sitzenden Mädchen (1918) exemplifies his contribution to Expressionism. The work portrays three female figures, with two standing and one seated, rendered in Mueller’s characteristic bold lines and vivid colors. As a nude painting (nu), it emphasizes raw, emotional expression and explores themes of innocence and vulnerability. Mueller’s style captures the essence of Expressionism by distorting form and emphasizing subjective experience, creating an intimate, powerful tableau that reflects the artist’s innovative approach to representing the human figure.
