View of Haarlem from the Brouwersvaart

"View of Haarlem from the Brouwersvaart" by Cornelis van Noorde exemplifies an 18th-century landscape painting rooted in the Dutch tradition. As a skilled landscape drawer and watercolor artist, van Noorde captures the serene Dutch countryside with delicate watercolor techniques. While not explicitly Baroque in style, the painting displays a keen attention to atmospheric effects and naturalism characteristic of the period, providing a picturesque view of Haarlem seen from the Brouwersvaart canal. This work highlights van Noorde’s ability to combine realistic scenery with subtle artistic finesse.
