Reservoir

"Reservoir" by Wayne Thiebaud exemplifies his signature style of presenting familiar objects and scenes with vibrant, exaggerated colors and heavy Oil pigment. While he is celebrated for his works depicting quotidian items like pastries and hot dogs, this piece reflects his interest in Landscape themes, blending elements of Expressionism through its bold brushwork and emotional depth. Thiebaud's use of well-defined shadows, reminiscent of advertisements, enhances the visual impact. Although associated with Pop Art, "Reservoir" echoes his broader exploration of cultural and natural motifs, capturing everyday life with a distinctive, lively palette.
