"Adoration of the Shepherds" is a religious painting by the Italian Baroque artist Luca Giordano, created around 1688. Commissioned for the queen’s apartments in the Palacio Real in Madrid or possibly at the Royal Palace of Aranjuez, it was part of a series illustrating the Life of the Virgin. The painting depicts the shepherds' adoration of the newborn Christ with dynamic composition and dramatic lighting characteristic of the Baroque style. Along with Giordano's "Marriage of the Virgin," it now resides in the Louvre, exemplifying the religious and artistic richness of the period.
